Vintage Baby Blanket

I'm very happy to have finally finished crocheting this babies blanket from a vintage pattern I found. HERE IS THE LINK TO THE PATTERN: http://www.antiquecrochetpatterns.com/baby-shawl.html
(For a relative of my boyfriend's first baby). In the olden days mums or grandmas would make beautiful blankets, gowns, bonnets and booties for babies in delicate and intricate patterns. People just don't have the time any more, which is a shame.

  1. tell me about it... i have spent the past six months knitting a lace christening shawl for my cousin.

it will have to be a hand-me-down, because i'm not making another one -- no matter how many more kids she has! :)

  2. I didn't realize how long it would take, felt like giving up a few times along the way but glad I made it to the end, after 6 months!

Would love to see what your gown looks like, when you get it done.

  10. Just love your shawl and I knit vintage patterns as I find that they are the best. I have just started to crochet and like this shawl, even if I only get the centre done for now. I can't get to the pattern because the link doesn't work or it had been removed. Is there another web site that might have it? Thank you in advance x
